Invite a colleague
You need the Owner or Admin portal role. To include Chat access, your organization also needs a usable Chat contract with a free place.
Send the invitation
Section titled “Send the invitation”- Open People and choose Add person. Invite new person in Chat’s Team & access opens the same dialog.
- Enter the colleague’s own email address.
- Choose a portal role: Admin, Finance or Monitoring. An invitation cannot grant Owner.
- If you want Chat access, enable it, select a plan with capacity and choose the Chat role: Admin, User or Viewer.
- Send the invitation. Check the pending entry in People.
If a Chat place is available, the dialog preselects Chat access, preferring Starter. Review this selection before sending. You can switch Chat off and invite a portal member without a Chat seat.
Have the colleague accept
Section titled “Have the colleague accept”The recipient opens the invitation link and signs in or creates an AUTARQ ID with the invited address. The invitation completes membership and the requested Chat assignment after acceptance.
A pending invitation reserves its Chat place until acceptance, withdrawal or expiry. It therefore reduces the free capacity shown. A stale capacity view cannot guarantee a place; the server checks again when sending.
Resend or withdraw
Section titled “Resend or withdraw”Use the pending person’s controls to resend or withdraw the invitation. Withdrawing or expiry releases its reservation. To change existing portal roles after acceptance, the organization owner uses the person’s drawer.
An address on your Entra routing domain is managed through Entra assignment rather than Add person. For an already provisioned directory person, use Give portal access in their drawer.
Check the result
Section titled “Check the result”After acceptance, confirm one person entry, the intended portal role and the Chat plan and role. If the invitation is refused or the address differs, use access troubleshooting.
