Import chats

Chat import accepts supported JSON exports. An arbitrary JSON document is not a supported chat export.

Import conversations

Export conversations from the source system and keep the original file.
Open the offered chat-import onboarding flow; its Chat route is /onboarding/chat-import.
Select the JSON file and wait for processing to finish.
Review successful and failed import counts.
Open a sample of imported conversations.

Some conversations can import successfully while others fail. Do not repeat the entire file without checking a partial failure: successful entries could be duplicated. Verify sources, attachments and sharing separately; a visible transcript does not prove that an external file was transferred.
